Catalangats is a personal project of Martí Sáiz. Based on Lluïsa Cobos’ list of Catalan adjectives ending in “-gat” (gat means “cat” in Catalan), we drew all manner of cats in the most bizarre poses. The design production company Cha Cha has distributed countless items featuring these illustrations, which can be found in shops such as Vinçon and the museum shop of MACBA (Barcelona’s Museum of Contemporary Art), among others. In 1996, we gave away coasters with this motif to our clients, which were chosen for the Laus international graphic design awards.
